Sydney awoke. He felt painful, raising a hand to his aching head, the cool metal of his hand soothing the pain a little. He looked around himself, taking in the room he had... appeared in? His memory was blurred, but he knew, with almost perfect clarity, that he had something important to do, something very important.
Suddenly the room began to shack, violently, rubble and stone falling from the ceiling high above him. Moments after it had started it died down, Sydney starting with legs apart and arms spread as he had tried to steady himself. The air felt stagnant, but that wasn't the only thing, it also felt... heavy, and thick, but also surging, as if excited, pulling at a chain to be released.
Sydney dusted himself off and looked about, taking in the ancient architecture, its crumbling surfaces and old stone, lit by lamp posts that dotted the sides, ones that somehow had not died and radiated still a chilling blue glow upon the room. Here and there he saw faint lines in the masonry, stronger in points and faded almost entirely in others. Approaching a wall that seemed to hold many in fairly good condition, Sydney brushed the wall lightly, decades of dust and cobwebs falling to the floor revealing glyphs and runes scribed upon the surface.
For hours he studied the wall, moving onto other surfaces, reading what he could, patrolling along the floor after he had read all that could still be read, thinking to himself. He knew this was somehow related to what he had to do, but what was it? The area began to shake again, Sydney braced himself as more dust and rubble fell, until it was over. The air had changed, he could feel it, too subtle at first, but he could feel it now.
He turned towards a door and flung it open, revealing a stairway down, somehow he knew were he was going, like he remembered instinctively. Descending, he noted now the air down here began to stream with faint power, a door looming before him. He swept it open, and smiled.
Before him lay a great library, the ceilings lost in the darkness above, row upon row of bookcases lit by braziers hung on the walls, the flames that should have long died still burning. Sydney wandered down the cases, occasionally picking out a book, reading the spine and flicking through a couple of pages. Ah, Perfect, these shall tell me what I yearn to know, and I feel then I will know what it is I must do.

Viro walked slowly through the darkness, the stone under foot cracked and pebbles bounced across the flooring. His eyes were shut as he made his way through the void, letting only the faint sound of crumbling rock and the scurry of mice lead him. His body was hidden from the peering eyes of rats, and zombies; not that he would have trouble dealing with such simple minded creatures. A smirk crossed Viro's face, just as the first rumble started, such natural events that he wished he could fix, yet there was no way he could no matter what power he held over the natural works of the world.
Rocks fell around him, yet none even came close to hitting his body, luck as some would say. He looked around in the darkness, his sharp eyes cut through it like a hot knife through butter. He had to wonder what was past his vision, he had a thirst for what he didn't know. He held his hand out and waited for a moment.
A large furry creature crawled up his leg digging it's shark, no doute dirty claws into his skin and soon escaped out into the air, perched on his hand. The animal had small beady red eyes that darted back and forth, it's tail scaly, even if it's body was covered in hair. It looked up at Viro, taking in his eyes, the orbs lacking the "whites" that could normally picked up with just a glance. His eyes were a dark red in the center, following out the darkest of blacks.
"Go my pet...." He said in a low harsh voice, it's sound not trailing far in the dark halls. With that the rat went off, climbing down his body once more, it's ears twitching for the smallest noise it could pick up. Within hours it found something truly different in the dark areas. In hope the smell of rot coming from it's body wouldn't give it away.
The second shake started and the half dead rat didn't move, even as a large rock fell, smashing it's tail into a blood smudge on the ground, it didn't even make a sound. With a small pull it was free, left with only a small nub for a tail. It followed the man as he entered the library after the man, sticking to the book selves, it's red eyes watching the man closely. It flashed slightly, sending back messages through the small lines of magic that connected it to Viro. Th image blinked into Viro's head, his eyebrow raised slightly.
Viro stopped walking, he just stood there, watching through the eyes of the rat, taking in his fill of the scene. When he started walking again, he changed his direction to meet the man at some point, his body following the basically the same bath that the rat took, only making slight changes when he came upon the small holes in the wall he couldn't pass. He made his way through the darkness without making a single sound.

Sydney had been in the library a couple of hours, reading in a seemingly random haphazard way. He flicked through books, sometimes mild fascination on his face, others boredom and he leafed through the pages with a steel clawed fingertip. He had noticed the rat not long after it arrived, its dead eyes watching him unblinkingly, not making a sound, following him as he moved. He didn't let on that he knew that it was there, instead carried on reading, taking the knowledge here that he needed.
It was all beginning to come clear, and his goal was revealing itself, he knew what he had to do, and maybe even why. His expression saddened, though he knew not why, yet he felt why, and it held more gravity to his mission. He closed the book he was holding in a hand, and tapped his lip with the other, he needed to find something else.
Putting the book back on the self, he walked off down a section, stopping further down. Raising a hand to his chin, he thought for a moment, then moved the arm out, taking a book and reading the spine. Opening it, he flicked a few pages and ran a finger down it, scanning the page, slamming it shut again with the hand that supported it. As he put it back, He muttered almost to himself, though load enough for the rat to hear. "You'll find that I have already sealed the doors with sigils, and the only way to open it is to acquire the key." He held out a small object, looking like some kind of crude jewellery on a chain, still looking at the shelf, as if looking for something. "I'm afraid the knowledge contained within this room is not for the eyes of others, it would be too.... bothersome." Sydney stashed the sigil in a slim pocket close to him, and reached for another book, still seemingly oblivious to the rat.

The rat made a small sqweaking sound and twitched slightly. It still didn't make any great move at the man, nor a movement to run. It relayed slight bits of information to Viro, such as what it heard and saw. Viro sent back along the lines of magic the job of getting the key from the man at any cost.
The small rat inched forward to the edge of the book self before jumping out at the man, trying to claw into his pocket and retrieve the key.
Meanwhile Viro walked slowly and stopped at the door. He didn't try to open it, nor go close to it. He stayed around five feet away, waiting for his rat to do it's job.

Sydney wiped the rat aside, a hand still holding the book open, sending the rat sprawling across the floor. He closed the book and looked at the rat, and almost slightly through it, as if he could seen through the rats eyes and at Viro himself, as the rat righted itself. "You are too predictable." There was the feeling of power as Sydney send a blast of energy down the magical connection between the rat and Viro. "Hmm..." After he considering the rat itself. "This plaything of yours has served its purpose." Sydney raise a hand, glyphs and symbols reaving around it as he uttered something under his breathe, small glowing lights floating around him. The symbols vanished as he uttered the last word, the lights dispersing, and something reached to grab at the rat.
Sydney went back to his book, as if nothing was happening, while, though hard to see or tell properly through the eyes of the rat, an ogre tried to catch the rat.
An ogre is like a human, except 7-8 foot tall, strong muscular build and rather agile and fast. Its ears are long and pointed like that of an elf, its skin a earthy tan colour, its eyes all white, no body hair at all, and its nose slightly large. It wears little except a loin clothe, and often has some kind of mask on, and often some kind of ear piercing.
Should the ogre catch the rat, it would be crushed, Sydney would continue to read for now, though he is still aware of the rat.

The rat lands hard on the stone floor, the small bones snapping and ripping through the soft flesh and skin. It staggered up, pushing up with one leg. It showed no fear, nor pain. As the energy was shot through it's magic line, viro broke it off, saving himself, all but the small headache that his his mind. He sighed, yet not moving from his place.
The rat stopped moving and fell to the ground limp. The ogre had free rain to grip and crunch the rat with ease, blood and bits of flesh oozed from it's hand, and the rat basically fell apart in it's hand.
Viro sighed once more, now he wanted to know what was beyond the doors he was locked out from. He sent out waves along the other lines of magic, telling all his small eyes and ears to converge on the one area. Around one hundred rats poured into the room from small holes and cracks in the rock, their little eyes locking onto the man with the key. Not even bothering with the ogre they made their way to the man, jumping at him and trying to claw their way up his pants. It mattered not if they lived or died, they had their mission, and at any cost they would get the key. None posed much danger, not one was trying to bite at him, nor tear any flesh from his body, they only wanted the simple key.
Viro didn't move from his place at the door, his eyes closed to watch from the single rat that stood in the back.

Sydney heard the slightly ominous sound of hundreds of small clawed paws scraping on stone as the horde creatures surged into the room. He closed the book again as they raced towards him, placing it back on the shelf, the glow of magic starting to surround him. Signing slightly, he channelled purging energies around himself to sever the dark energies that held the rats in their semi-balance of life.
As the ogre stood there, an arcane circle formed on the floor around him, light building up around it, the circle growing towards a brilliant whiteness. The tide of rats surged up at him, half climbing, half leaping as the light reached a peak, a column of light shooting up around Sydney, catching any rats near him in its glow. The rats hung there for a moment, then the energies surged into them, causing the magic's that bind them together to untie. Their lifeless, or even, un-lifeless bodies fell to the floor as Sydney turned to consider the rats that remained. "You are want of this room aren't you?" A slight smile spread across his lips. "But I still fear that I cannot allow it." He bowed his head slightly, almost apologetically. "But I suppose I can't completely deny you the chance to seek the knowledge that lies within this room." Lifting a hand up to his jawline, he tapped it thoughtfully, the other arm supporting it, his smile still mildly playing on his lips. He slowly considered something, his eyes showing him in thought. "Ah." He raised a metallic finger as a thought struck. "I believe some encouragement would be in order, yes?"
The pile of corpses around Sydney caved in as he flashed white, disappearing, only to reappear down the rows of bookcases. There he selected a book and turned several pages, then turned the book to face a rat as he reached a specific one, its pages covered in diagrams and notes, showing spells and incantations of an obscure form of necromancy. "An ancient and long forgotten art of necromancy, does it not pique your interest?" He turned the book back to himself, flicking through some pages. "They wished control over beings that could not be controlled. But it occurred to them.... it need not be alive to control it, even a dragon is still a mighty beast in death..."
Snapping the book closed he examined the last of the creatures and put the book back on the shelf. "But of course, I shall have to seal this room entirely, pets aren't allowed in here...." He raised a hand and the connection began to waver, disappearing after several seconds.

Viro sighed, severing the lines himself, the rats seemed not to be helping much anyways. He stepped closer to the door, determined to get in, just knowing he wasn't aloud in was enough to drive him nuts. He moved his right hand out from under his cloak, the skin was a dark red, and pulled tight across the veins that hid the bones from view. His skin could almost be seen through, just on the one arm. He let the blackened tips gently touch the stone, the tips of the bleach white bones visible to all. The skin budged, and moved much like a bad of snakes until the skin itself broke apart.
Long lines of red blood slowly crawled out from the slits in the skin, each one moving to the stone finding small cracks and imperfections. Even if it took his hours he would brake in of simple destroy the place. If he couldn't have the information then it wasn't meant for the eyes of any.
The long vessels of blood pushed into the cracks, expanding quickly and solidifying as iron gathered at the tips. He kept pumping more and more into the areas, hopefully braking some of the stone apart, or opening more for him to explore.

Sighing, Sydney finished the spell, sealing the room off. The magic wasn't as strong as the doors, but it was strong enough to keep any nuisances out, and he did have to cover the entire room in it. He thought for a second, working out what to do next, he had in fact already read what he needed to, for the past hour he'd been reading the other books, curiosity causing him to move from book to book.
But now he needed to leave. But he also needed to preserve these books, they would be useful later, if he got the chance, or found someone that would be.. worthy of the knowledge within it. One ogre wasn't enough should anything get past those seals, which he had a feeling would, such was the way of things, so he summoned another, the magic raising from him, dissipating as another ogre stood in front of him, magic flowing away from him as he formed.
Sydney tapped his chin again, feeling that maybe this wasn't enough. Striding to the centre of the library, he knelt down and began scribing something onto the open surface, the two ogres standing behind him, little to do other then wait.

Frustration washed over Viro as the stone refused to crack, no matter what pressure was put onto the outside. He sighted slightly letting his shredded hand fall to his side, the veins still loosely hanging outside. What to do, What to do? He looked down the hall, he wasn't one just to give in when he couldn't get his way, but his rats where dead, and he didn't dare use anything larger without fear of it braking loose.
He tried to follow a line to maybe one, or two of the rats he had left. They where to far away for him to do anything, he only could feel the slight beats of sound resonating off the small dim red lines. He never took his time to hide the paths of those he wasn't using, but then no zombie was smart enough to follow it back.
Pulling his hands up, he moved his fingers in so it came to a Small point. Small nubs formed on the tips of each finger, angling in on themselves. The Veins wrapped tightly around the bones, pushing them into a tight coil. He smirked before bringing his arm back, a small pop of bone coming from his shoulder. He followed through slamming his arm forward, point first into the wall. The tip berried it's self deep into the stone, sending large cracks in all directions. Stone fell to the ground showing a small hole all the way through the stone.
As Viro pulled back the equally damaged bones he looked at the hole with a smile. He had his way in now.

The claws of his metallic hand scratched the surface of the floor, the lines forming a circles of runes, a faint glow beginning to illuminate from it as Sydney neared it's completion. Behind him the summoned ogres watched on, unconcerned with what he was doing, occasionally watching their surrounds, checking their weaponry with the odd hint of boredom.
He finished the circle and stopped after the last stroke, looking over his work. Standing slowly, a hand was raise over the summoning circle, he began to utter a long and complex incantation, the words springing forth in a stream of sharp and harsh sounding sounds. The air grew heavy as it seemed to condense, a dark and faint orb gathering at centre of the circle, warping the air around it as dark energy gathered towards it. Suddenly the orb stopped gathering energy and seemingly exploded, a dark light of sorts filling the air around the circle, dying away gradually, the figure standing in its place.
Sydney looked the creature up and down, it looked similar to the ogres he had summoned just before, but this creature stood a head taller. its skin blue and covered in tattoos. The mask it wore was fair more ornate then the other two ogres, the jewellery it wore, though crude, was expensive looking.
Staring straight at it, Sydney watched it become unsure under his gaze. "You are yo guard this room and it knowledge from all, no harm shall come to it, am I clear?" The ogre nodded slowly, unable to move from his gaze. Sydney swept a hand behind him. "They will serve you in your task." Sydney heard a sound like the cracking of rock come from behind him and the tumbling of a few pebbles. "Seems your task will come sooner then I though." Mor to himself then the ogres.
The Ogre Lord is a stronger version of an ogre, they are physically as strong and fast as a normal ogre, but they have learned the art of magic, often healing and support magic. Not massively advanced, they often boost they abilities of their allies, making them a difficult foe in a group of other creatures. They are also often better equipped
Sydney moved past the ogre, leaving them to their task, approaching a far door. As he raised the sigil to the door, temporarily disabling the seal to it. Before he left he looked back, a slight smile on his face, at least this would give him some interest along the way to what he had to do. Sweeping onward, the door closed behind him again, the seal barring the door again, Sydney disappearing into the dark of the Under-City once again,

Viro smiled wider as he pulled his way into the room. Without paying mind to his surroundings, or at least from the way he stared out into the wide Libary, he moved to the closest book self and pulled a book free with the normal, or close to normal hand. With a slow intake of the stale air he released the gust on the cover of the book, sending a cloud of dust into the air, curling through the gaping hole in the row.
With his thumb he flipped the book open, reading the first couple lines of the first page before shelving it once more. He was satisfied with the written word found here, even if it would take him some time to work his way through it, but then what else was the minions he held control over for.
With a sigh he turned to the center of the room, and at the three hulking beasts. He didn't even seemed phased at the sight his eyes fell upon. Years with half dead scum was far worse then three of these things.
"Gentalmen.... are we going to have to get rough of are you going to allow me passage to this place...."
He smiled even wider, to a almost inhuman length. He steeped forward challenging the three for space and dormancy.
"Who will be first...?"
He spoke once more lifting once more his red, blooded and broken arm. It slowly started to unravel itself, braking away what was left in of the skin. Long lines of red and dark purple blood vessels wiggled freely in the air, waiting for what could come, or what he would start.

[avatar]http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/9569/ogrelordkx9.jpg[/avatar]The Ogres looked at the weird man, unfazed by the demonstration of his abilities. The blue one issued a wave of his hand, sending the two other ogres sideways, one left, and one to the right, while he remained standing where he was. Raising his hand up, he traced some simple runes in the air, leaving a shimmering green glow tracing his hand movements. His other hand remaining on his blade, hanging at his side, the blade nearly the full length of a person, its edge keen catching the torch light.
The ogre heading left leaped onto the book shelves, his legs pumping as he bolted across the top of them, hopping from row to row, his head tracking the intruder as he did. His actions were mirrored by the other ogre, till the were both just a bit past Viro. At the same time, the blue one finished his spell, spirals of green energy wreathing across his body as he finished. Sweeping his sword across, he launched himself forward towards Viro, the same moment the other two as charged, bearing down on the being that bared enter the place they were charged with keeping.
